DAY OFF

A leisure-first collective market for the modern creator.

Studio DAY presents: A collective rebellion against the grind.

After 7.5 years in the creative, retail, and experience design space in Chattanooga, and 15+ years in the creative industry, we’ve thought about this a lot. And now, we’ve made it easier, with everyone’s time, nervous systems, and priorities in mind. This market is designed for artists & makers to get back to what they love doing.

Trade the maker-hustle for a DAY OFF.

YOU ARE PART
OF A TIGHT
CURATION HERE

  • Less setting up / breaking down (bring it in your goods on Friday morning / leave it until Sunday afternoon). You are welcome to restock as needed throughout the weekend.

  • Longer periods of time to sell (Friday - Sunday each week)

  • Rotating co-op of people working the POS so you don’t have to sit there in order to sell, and you don’t have to pay an employee, which can break the bank quickly. Each vendor takes a shift 1 -2 times a month. Our POS system allows customers to shop for everyone’s goods, and the system sends your sales directly to your account. No consignment, no wholesale, no waiting.

  • Enjoy a highly curated group of businesses that lift each other up

  • Built in foot traffic with Full Circle Refillery, Lo Main, and Yellow Racket Records as neighbors

  • High-end promotion with visuals and promotional design created by Studio DAY

  • Free parking

  • Utilities included

  • A great way to test drive the brick-and-mortar model if you’re thinking about signing an expensive lease

  • Competitive pricing (vendors pay $75/per weekend), 3-month commitments at a time.

  • Non-exclusivity (set up as many markets as you like, but (for now) we’re the only ones doing it quite like this)

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Your creative community’s favorite DAY OFF.

The Concept:
In the production world, a "Day Off" is a rare luxury. We’ve reclaimed that term for our community. DAY OFF is a semi-permanent, collaborative market designed for intentional makers, artists and creators to trade the solo booth-grind for more flexibility. By sharing the load, we ensure the creators make more and work less.

The market scene reimagined with artists & makers in mind

A curated home for Chattanooga’s best makers
and creators.

FAQs

HOW MUCH CAN I SELL? and how am i paid?

1

We want you to sell and make as much as you can! The only limitations are spatial. We want the shop to look and feel highly curated, so we encourage vendors to make an edit each weekend to keep the shop well-styled and never too crowded. If you sell out, you can restock as much as you need during the market hours. We use a system designed for this type of market, and we will program your goods into our POS. Customers can buy things from everyone at once, but the profits will go directly to the separate vendors on the back end. Studio DAY manages the POS fees and hardware costs. No wholesale. No consignment.

How do I get started?

2

Getting started is simple. If you are interested and want to become a part of a creative co-op market, send us an email julie@studioday.fun. We’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

What makes you different?

3

Our market is truly maker - first. After years hosting and taking part in pop ups, this formula has been created so everyone can work smarter, not harder. The space is provided at the lowest possible price for Studio DAY to host and coordinated for you to make maximum sales while not limiting yourself. Each vendor selects a day they can work the market, and we rotate (some exceptions, such as coffee vendors, will need to be there in person to run their machines) In this way, everyone takes a turn, so you’re not sitting there all day every day AND you’re not paying an employee to work your markets. Before setting up, we require one day to meet together for a day of education on our products and POS system (similar to a Square reader).

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

4

To begin, as we test-drive this concept, the first 3 months in this market will cost $75 per weekend/per vendor to sell here. Vendors must agree to a 3-month (minimum) commitment, and payment will be due before setup each week (**see below for first month exception). This is a special introductory rate for the first group.

To help our studio with start-up costs (POS system, shelving build-outs, tables, and promotional design), vendors will be required to pay the first 3 weeks up front to get started. After that, each weekend can be paid for on Fridays before setup. To make this as easy as possible, we are not requiring a full month’s worth of fees at once after the first month; instead, we are breaking it down by week so it is less of a strain on your business. The opening month is the exception, so we can all work together to make the market as successful as possible right out of the gate.

WHAT ARE THE MARKET HOURS? when do i set up?

5

DAY OFF Market is exclusively hosted at Studio DAY (2312 East Main Street) and is open Friday & Saturday 11:00 - 5:30 and Sunday 11:00 - 3:00. Vendors will be provided shelves and tables for goods. You only need to bring your products. Business cards and postcards explaining your business and goods are highly recommended. You may bring goods and style them on Fridays at 10:15 am and pick up goods on Sunday no later than 4:00 pm. If you need to restock throughout the weekend, you’re welcome to anytime during market hours.

This market is designed to support you, and in return, we expect all creatives to support one another. You are encouraged to share on social media and promote this co-op as much as you'd like. While you are not obligated to sell exclusively through our market (feel free to set up at as many markets as you like), we do request that the creative ideas and structure of our market not be replicated elsewhere. We aim to create a unique experience for our collective, and we want to keep that experience special. We operate with respect for each other and all the businesses involved. We respect our neighbors and are all-inclusive and welcoming of all people here. From time to time, we would love to invite guest vendors to pop up in the exterior parking lot (and interior when space allows) and coordinate larger events within the neighborhood. This requires no additional work from our vendors and is just an added bonus. In this market, we depend on eachother. It only works if we all show up on time and respect the process for eachother. Thank you for your cooperation!
